The signal
The August numbers show strong AI/ML hiring growth across several of India’s major technology hubs. Hyderabad recorded 48% year-on-year growth, while Bengaluru, Chennai and Pune each recorded 31%, according to Naukri JobSpeak.
The practical implication is that location strategy can materially affect access to specialist technology talent. Supply varies by skill, seniority and ecosystem, even within the same country.
For employers hiring in AI and related disciplines, a pan-India search can widen the available pool. The better approach is to define the role and candidate profile first, then let the evidence determine where the search should run.
